Call for Papers

The Pluto Meeting 2001 will be held in the Italian town of Terni starting December 7 and on through the 9. Pluto Meeting 2001 is an event devoted to the diffusion of Free Software.

This event will include talks and courses on the use of Free Software in both the enterprise and single-user contexts. A series of meetings will be held on topis chosen by the partecipants and companies will be meeting users in the exibitor's area.

We are currently seeking experts willing to hold talks of half an hour to one hour in length during one of the days of Pluto Meeting 2001.

Those interested in submitting a proposal for a talk can write to the secratary of the conference at segreteria@pluto.linux.it. Please include a detailed abstract.

Your abstract will necessarily include:

  • Your name and e-mail;
  • A brief description of your past involvement in Free Software;
  • A concise summary (one page maximum) of the talk you are willing to hold;

Abstracts will be revised by the organizing committe of the Meeting and authors will receive feedback on their proposals ASAP.

Call for Courses

We are currently seeking experts willing to hold courses of three to four hours in length during one of the days of Pluto Meeting 2001. These courses can be either at the introductory level (amied at unexperienced future users) or assume an experts knowledge of a subject that will be analyzed in further detail. In either case the requirement is made of making the learning experience as interactive as possible (in essence we are not looking for just a four-hour long lecture).

Those interested in submitting a proposal for a course can write to the secratary of the conference at segreteria@pluto.linux.it. Please include a detailed abstract.

Call for Sponsors

Pluto Meeting 2001, an event dedicated to Free Software, will be held in Terni between December 7 and 9, 2001.
The meeting will be held in the ITC Technical College "Federico Cesi", and will include a series of talks and courses on the use of Free Softwareboth in the industry and for personal use, as well as submitted talks and an expo area dedicated to companies operating in this area of Information Technology.
The eventr will be announced in all IT magazies and in major newspapers, TV stations and nation-wide radio natworks.

The exibit area dedicated to Sponsors will span two floors of the college's building where the meeting will be held.
The importance associated with the different levels of sponsorship is not related to the size of the stand itself but to its positioning: stands located in areas guaranteeing the largest influx of visitors could have smaller sizing than stands located in less-visible areas. Stands are equipped with:

  • Panels on three sides
  • A table (2.5 m in length) and two chairs
  • An "espositore"
  • Two power strips
  • 2 Mbit connectivity on RJ-45 (in case you have more than one computer, a different solution can be arranged)

Sponsorship levels:

  1. "Diamond":

    • Company posters/logo will be posted in the Auditorium where the opening/closing speeches and the keynotes will take place.
    • A stand 5 meters by 3 located in the area granting the most visibility.
    • Flyers or other company matherial /gadgets in the participant's folder.
    • Company logo on the participant's folder (in central position).
    • Possibility of distributing an additional folder of company matherials with the main participant's folder.
    • Sponsorizzazione trasporti.

  2. "Platinum":

    • Company posters/logo will be posted in the computer lab where the courses will take place.
    • A 3 by 2 stand in an area where talks and courses are sure to originate influx.
    • Flyers or other company matherial /gadgets in the participant's folde.
    • Company logo on the participant's folder.
    • Sponsorizzazione buffet.

  3. "Gold":

    • A 3 by 2 stand in an area where talks and courses are sure to originate influx - some stand in particularly visible areas might be smaller (3 by 1.5).
    • Flyers or other company matherial /gadgets in the participant's folder.

  4. "Silver":

    • A 3 by 1.5 stand.
    • Flyers or other company matherial /gadgets in the participant's folder.

  5. "Bronze":

    • Flyers or other company matherial /gadgets in the participant's folder.
